Who we are

David and Heidi are high school sweethearts and have been married 22 years. From Ohio to New Orleans, and Detroit, they’ve lived in a variety of places. Most recently Phoenix, AZ for the past 11 years. In September 2023 they moved to rural Arkansas to get away from the city, have a little more space and quiet, and ultimately built a 501c3 non profit animal sanctuary.

While no longer practicing, Heidi spent 10 years as a Registered Veterinary Technician and still holds her license. They have opted not to have human children. Instead, choosing to adopt and care for animals. Over the years they’ve built relationships with several rescues/shelters. In turn, they’ve welcomed over 30 animals, most of which have/had some sort of medical concern/disability or been seniors. Their hope is to provide a soft landing for animals so they can live their golden years in a quiet home that’s filled with love while receiving the medical care they need. And when the time comes, to respectfully usher them to the other side with the dignity that all animals deserve.

Their current pack is 10 strong varying in age from 9-17 years, and their herd includes 4 senior miniature horses, 3 miniature donkeys (mother/daughter/daughter), and 2 katahdin sheep.

They love educating and building awareness surrounding the importance of rescuing, fostering, adopting, and overall animal welfare through their content, connections, and community outreach. This is why you’ll often see them collecting donations for the local animal shelter’s community pantry and documenting their animal husbandry for others to learn about animal care.
